New Orleans Opera Announces 4 Operas for 2022-23 Season

New Orleans Opera has announced its 2022-23 season.

The season will consist of four operas.

It all starts with two performances of Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 30 & Oct. 2, 2022

The season continues with “Hansel and Gretel,” also at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 18 & 20, 2022 

Kicking off the new year will be Schnyder’s “Charlie Parker’s Yardbird.” The opera will be presented at the New Orleans Jazz Market.

Performance Dates: Jan. 20-22, 2023

Bringing the season to a close at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts will be a production of Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.”

Performance Dates: March 24 & 26, 2023
