New Music USA announced the recipients of the 2022 Creator Development Fund Grant.

This year 112 creators received a grant from the organization. The list of awardees can be found here.

The total amount awarded was $335,00 across the US. The awardees were chosen with the hopes of supporting creators who were affected by the challenges created by COVID-19 and those focusing on new music. Another goal for New Music USA was to support twice as many creators than in 2021. This served in part of the organization’s 10th anniversary.

The Creator Development Fund Grant supported 54% of awardees who identify as women, non-binary or transgender, 71% of the awardees are BIPOC, and artists based in 25 states.

President and CEO of New Music USA, Vanessa Reed said in a press release, “I am proud that this year, as part of our 10th anniversary, we’ve been able to support more creators than ever before as they continue to face challenges brought by the ongoing pandemic. The breadth of inspiring applications we received from across the country demonstrates the resilience of our community and the ongoing needs of individual creators to have access to resources in these uncertain times. I cannot wait to see the creativity and collaboration that flourishes from these artists.”
