New Generation Festival Announces Mozart Opera For 2019 Festival

The New Generation Festival has announced its 2019 program, which will take place at the Gardens of the Palazzo Corsini.

Per a press release, the 2018 festival was a massive success with audience members from over 25 countries and 800 applications from musicians under the age of 35 from over 78 different countries.

The opening night of the festival will feature the first opera in Mozart’s Da Ponte Trilogy, “Le Nozze di Figaro.” The classic masterpiece will feature such artists as Daniel Mirosław, Anna El-Khashem, Faik Mansuroğlu, Nela Šarić, Emily Edmonds, and Beth Margaret Taylor, among others.

This is the second straight year that the company puts on a Mozart opera, after showcasing “Don Giovanni” in last year’s festival. Per the company, over 50 percent of the audience for “Don Giovanni” was under the age of 35.

Performance Dates: August 28, 31, 2019

In addition to “Le Nozze di Figaro,” the company will showcase performances of “From Blues to Bebop” as well as a concert that features Beethoven’s fourth piano concerto and Robert Schumann’s second symphony in C major.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 16, 2018.
