New England Conservatory Announces Fall Programming

The New England Conservatory has announced its fall programming. Listed here are the opera events which are free and open to the public.

Mezzo-soprano Rebecca Printz solos in Brett Dean’s “I Starred Last Night, I Shone” in “NEC & Yellow Barn Present: A Concert for Violist Roger Tapping (1960-2022).”

Performance Date: September 19, 2023

“Liederabend LXVII” features songs in a variety of languages, dating from the 19th century up to the present day.

Performance Date: October 18, 2023

NEC’s Director of Choral Activities Erica J. Washburn conducts the NEC Chamber Singers at their first concert of the 2023-24 academic year. They present Roxanna Panufnik’s “99 Words for my Darling Children.”

Performance Date: October 18, 2023

Students present “Perkin Opera Scenes” in the Plimpton Shattuck Black Box Theatre.

Performance Dates: October 26-27, 2023

Soprano Sari Gruber and pianist Cameron Stowe present “All-Rachmaninoff.”

Performance Date: November 6, 2023

David Loebel conducts the NEC Philharmonia and NEC Symphonic Choir in “Pärt, Mozart.”

Performance Date: November 8, 2023

Guest artist baritone Randall Scarlata joins faculty members Vivian Hornik Weilerstein, Cameron Stowe, and Donald Weilerstein on the “Faculty Recital” program.

Performance Date: November 9, 2023

NEC Opera presents Francesco Cavalli’s “La Calisto.” Robert Tweten conducts. 

Performance Dates: November 16-19, 2023

Up next is “Liederabend LXVIII.”

Performance Date: November 29, 2023

The NEC Symphonic Choir and Chamber Singers present “An Evening of Lessons and Carols.”

Performance Date: December 8, 2023

Last, but not least is “Into the Holidays” by the NEC Chamber Singers, Symphonic Winds, and Navy Band North East.
