The New Camerata Opera is now an official member of Opera America.

The company made the announcement via its social media channels, noting that “it is an honor to be part of an organization that furthers the cause of this great art form through the support of the most innovative and engaging opera companies in the country.”

New Camerata has had an enduring rise in the New York City opera scene. Over the last season, the company has showcased a highly successful opening night gala, released an opera short film, performed at a number of fundraising events, and put on a successful production of a rare double bill.

Now the company is gearing up for more such projects, including its upcoming “The Rape of Lucretia,” which will be featured as part of the New York Opera Festival 2019. New Camerata Opera is also set to showcase “Heroines of Opera” on March 26, 2019 at the Flea Theater.
