New Camerata Opera Announces Major Addition to Board of Directors

The New Camerata Opera has announced that Alexa Smith will join the board of directors.

Smith is currently the Chief of Staff to the President of the Manhattan School of Music and has served as Director of Marketing at the New York City Opera.

Per a release on social media, Smith will focus on “she set the strategy for marketing initiatives, including e-newsletters, social media, season brochures, advertising, etc.”

She is also a performing, having appeared with such companies as the New York City Opera, CNR Drama, The Martina Arroyo Foundation’s Prelude to Performance, dell’Arte Opera, and BarnArts Theatre.

“Alexa will lend a very high-level of expertise in helping to guide and develop the initiatives of New Camerata Opera, along with our other fantastic board members. Welcome to the team, Alexa,” stated the company’s release on social media.

The New Camerata Opera is set to present a double bill of “Venus and Adonis” and “Savitri” on Nov. 29 , Dec. 1 and Dec. 2. Prior to that, performers will appear at the Cornelia Street Café for a performance on Halloween.
