By Francisco Salazar

The New Amsterdam Opera has rescheduled its Spring Fling concert.

The company announced via Facebook that due to Jennifer Rowley’s assignment as “Tosca” at the Philadelphia Orchestra, the company would have to reschedule the concert, which was also set to star Mark Delavan. The company has yet to announce a new date.

Jennifer Rowley will be stepping in for the ailing Sonya Yoncheva to sing Tosca with the Philadelphia Orchestra alongside Yusif Eyvazov and Ambrogio Maestri. Yannick Nézet-Séguin will conduct performances.

The New Amsterdam Opera next performs “La Favorita” as part of the New York Opera Fest on June 2, 2018. The performance, which is part of OperaWire’s 10 Must season summer operas, will be dedicated to the memory of Dmitri Hvorostovsky, who performed the work in 2001 with the Opera Orchestra of New York. The production will be lead by Keith Chambers with a cast that includes Catherine Martin, Steven LaBrie, and Peter Scott Drackley.
