The New Amsterdam Opera has announced the cast for Verdi’s “I Vespri Siciliani.”

The cast is set to include Indira Mahajan as Elena, Jeremy Brauner as Arrigo, Bryan Glenn Davis as Procida, and Daniel Scofield as Monforte. Keith Chambers conducts the rarely performed work, which was last heard in New York City at the Metropolitan Opera in 2004.

Rounding out the cast will be Rachel Arky, John Kaneklides, Adam Cioffari, Jordan Weatherston Pitts, Melvin Rodriguez, Seunghee Lee, and Taicheng Li.

The presentation of Verdi’s opera, which was written by Scribe and Duveyrier continues the successful concert performers for the company which have included “Le Cid,” “La Forza del Destino,” “Fidelio” and “La Favorita.”

“I Vespri Siciliani” will be performed on May 9, 2020, 7:00 PM, at The Center at West Park.
