
Neue Stimmen Competition Announces 2019 Winners
By Francisco SalazarThe Neue Stimmen competition announced its 2019 winners.
It was announced that Russian soprano Anna El-Khashem and Chinese tenor Long Long took home the first prize at the prestigious competition receiving €15,000 each.
In second place, soprano Natalia Tanasii, baritones Domen Križaj, and Bongani Kubheka received €10,000.
The third place winner was soprano Slávka Zámečníková who received €5,000.
The Bass-Baritone Vladislav Buyalskiy from Ukraine won the new award Brian Dickie Young Singers Award worth €5,000. The award was given for the first time in honor of Brian Dickie’s 20-year commitment as head of the worldwide auditions of Neue Stimmen.
The finale in Gütersloh saw six female and four male singers compete for the first prize. Among other finalists were Hélène Carpentier, Enkeleda Kamani, Jamez McCorkle, and Nombulelo Yende.
