The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) Opera Project presents a queer telling of Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice.”

Artistic Director and Stage Director Brenda Huggins’ “Orfeo ed Euridice,” set in the 90’s gay club scene, depicts the mythical characters as they navigate a place where self-expression and sexuality are free from oppressive ideologies and politics.

The all-female and non-binary cast features Mary Kray as Orfeo and Madeleine Lew as Euridice. They are joined by Abbey Diana Englemann, Rebekah Daly, Dasom (Julia) Kim, Sydney Pérez, and the Nightingale Vocal Ensemble. The Boston Festival Orchestra is lead by its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Alyssa Wang.

Performance are held at Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts in Cambridge on June 13 and 14. All tickets can be acquired by the pay-what-you-can model.
