Naxos Music Group Announces New CEO

Naxos Music Group has announced that Matthias Lutzweiler has been appointed the new CEO.

In his new position, Lutzweiler will be supported by Jeffrey Lien, CEO of Naxos of America and Global Deputy CEO, and Iwen Schmees, who is CEO of Naxos Deutschland and Global Chief Operating Officer.

He will continue developing the growth of Naxos Music Group as it focuses on key strategies and expanding into new markets and technologies.

In a statement, the board of directors said, “We are delighted to appoint Matthias Lutzweiler as CEO of the Naxos Music Group. Matthias brings a wealth of experience, deep industry knowledge, and a proven track record of leadership within the Naxos organization. We are confident that this leadership team, which consists of experienced people from within the Naxos Music Group will uphold the values and vision that [our founder] Klaus Heymann instilled in Naxos, while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth,” they added. “Together, we will continue to deliver exceptional value to our customers, partners, and the global classical music community.”

Lutzweiler joined Naxos Music Group in 2011 as CEO of Naxos Deutschland and had a distinguished 21-year tenure at Hänssler Classic.
