The⁩ Nationaltheater Mannheim has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director.

The company noted that Tilmann Pröllochs will take over the position from the 2022-23 season.

In his new position, Pröllochs will oversee the overall economic state and management of the interdisciplinary areas and departments of the theatre and he will also be in charge of the general refurbishment of the building on Goetheplatz and the operation of the alternative venues during the refurbishment phase.

His contract at the Nationaltheater will be until August 31, 2027.

Pröllochs has been the administrative director of the Oldenburg State Theater since 2010 and from 1994 to 2010 he was administrative director of the Landestheater Tübingen. From 1991 to 1994, he held the position of administrative director of the Heidenheim Opera Festival.
