The Nationale Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam has announced a cast change for its upcoming production of “Tosca.”

The company announced that Federico De Michelis will be stepping into the role of Il Sagrestano. De Michelis was originally set to appear in the title of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” at Virginia Opera; he has now been replaced with Erik Earl Larson in the role of Figaro.

De Michelis joins a cast headlined by Malin Byström in the title role, Joshua Guerrero as Mario Cavaradossi, and Gevorg Hakobyan as Scarpia. Lorenzo Viotti conducts a production by Barrie Kosky.

De Michelis has appeared with such companies as the Florida Grand Opera, North Carolina Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Palm Beach Opera, the Aspen Music Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, among many others.

“Tosca” opens on April 12, 2022.
