National Student Opera Society Announces 2022 Mentorship Program

The National Student Opera Society has announced a new mentorship scheme set to start in 2022.

The program will take place over three months and will allow four young artists the opportunity to work one on one with a mentor for their professional development. In sum, there will be three sessions with each mentor with the first starting in January. All participants must be 18 years and older.

This year’s mentors include Anush Hovhannisyan, Tara Erraught, Nicky Spence, and Roderick Williams.

Hovhannisyan is a frequent performer at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and has also appeared with such companies as the Scottish Opera, Chelsea Opera Group, Israeli Opera, and Welsh National Opera, among others.

Erraught has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, Irish National Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Festtage Berlin, Staatsoper Unte den Linden, and Oper Köln. Meanwhile, Nicky Spence is a fixture at Grange Park Opera, the Royal Opera House, La Monnaie / De Munt, Festtage Berlin, and the Metropolitan Opera.

Finally, Williams recently appeared with the Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Opera, the Barbican Centre, and La Seine Musicale.
