National Opera Studio Unveils 2024-25 Season

The United Kingdom’s National Opera Studio announced its 2024-25 season.

First up is “Shakespeare Revisited,” a survey of operas inspired by the Bard. Keith Warners directs the showcase in London.

Performance Dates: Dec. 3 & 4, 2024

Next up is “Deception & Desire” in partnership with the Welsh National Opera and featuring the Welsh National Opera Orchestra. The performance takes place at the Donald Gordon Theatre in Cardiff.

Performance Dates: Feb. 2, 2025

Then the Studio teams up with the Scottish Opera in Glasgow for “Lust & Laughter.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 21, 2025

Next is “London Showing” at the Sinfonia Smith Square with participation from the Welsh National Opera and Scottish Opera, accompanied by the English National Opera Orchestra.

Performance Dates: March 7, 2025

“Baroque Operas” will hit the stage in London.

Performance Dates: April 3 & 4, 2025

Then comes an “English Song Recital” at Wigmore Hall with the support and participation of Sir Thomas Allen. The program features work by Britten, Michael Head, and Rebecca Clarke.

Performance Dates: May 6, 2025

Speaking of Britten, the final showcase of the season features scenes from the iconic composer’s chamber operas, alongside the Opera North Orchestra.

Performance Dates: June 6 & 10, 2025
