The National Opera Studio has appointed Lucy Bradley to the position of Resident Director.

Bradley’s appointment will increase the training opportunities offered to Young Artists before the start of rehearsals. In her new position, she will work with the National Opera Studios artistic team and lead a recitative project this fall.

“I am delighted to be joining the NOS team as Resident Director to embed varied approaches to performance making, acting and stagecraft into the Young Artists’ Programme,” Bradley said in an official press release issued by the organization. “I look forward to working individually with this year’s Young Artists, offering them regular and individually focused support as they develop their performance practice.”
Bradley has directed operas for such companies as OperaUpClose, the Royal Opera House Engender Festival, and Tête à Tête Festival. She has also been the revival director for productions at the Royal Opera House, Oper Köln, and Opera Monte Carlo.
“I am thrilled to welcome Lucy Bradley to the staff of the National Opera Studio as Resident Director,” said Eric Melear, Artistic Director at the National Opera Studio. “Her broad experience will greatly benefit our Young Artists in the rehearsal studio, expanding the scope of our individually tailored, bespoke training programme to hone the stagecraft of our singers.”
