National Opera House & Wexford Festival Opera Announces Investment in Lighting Equipment
By David SalazarThe National Opera House and Wexford Festival Opera have announced a major investment in new stage lighting equipment for the O’Reilly Theatre in Wexford, Ireland.
The package features moving light fixtures from Robe Lighting, a manufacturer of professional lighting technology. Per an official press release, the fixtures offer color consistency, high output performance, and extensive automated functionality. The equipment will debut at the 75th Wexford Festival Opera, which runs from Oct. 15 to Oct. 31.
The National Opera House selected Robe based on technical performance, operational suitability, and long-term sustainability. The compact size, low weight, and quiet operation of the fixtures were cited as important factors in preserving the acoustic integrity of the auditorium. The fixtures also use a replaceable light engine design, which extends their operational lifespan and reduces future lifecycle costs. Robe has maintained a relationship with the venue for many years.
Gavin Mooney, National Sales Manager for Robe Lighting in Ireland, said, “Seeing the Robe fixtures in the venue is a wonderful sight, and we can’t wait to see them in action during this year’s Wexford Festival Opera.”
Phil Jennings, Technical Manager for the National Opera House, added, “The investment significantly enhances the National Opera House’s technical capability, ensuring the venue is well positioned to support a diverse range of productions and events into the future.”
