Nathan Bryon Wins German-Australian Opera Grant
By Francisco SalazarTenor Nathan Bryon has won the 2024 German-Australian Opera Grant.
The grant will enable him to join the ensemble of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden for the 2025-6 season.
In a statement, the organization said, “We are thrilled to announce the recipient of the 2025 GAOG Opera Finale, Nathan Bryon, Tenor from NSW received the German-Australian Opera Grant comprising of a twelve-month employment contract (August 2025 – July 2026) at the renowned Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, flights, one month’s German tuition at the Goethe-Institut as well as prize money of $5,000.”
The competition also saw soprano Lucy Schneider from VIC, win the Audience Award of $3,000 while soprano Caitling Weal from VIC received the MTO – Developing Grant of $4,000. Bass Henry Pinder from QLD, received the Encouragement Grant of $2,000.
