Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Won Whi Choi, Alexandra Razskazoff, Marcus Deloach Headline Teatro Grattacielo’s 2021 Season

The company will present Mascagni’s “L’Amico Fritz” at La MaMa’s Ellen Stewart Theatre. The work was last performed in New York City in 1987and will star Won Whi Choi, Alexandra Razskazoff, and Marcus Deloach. Israel Gursky heads the Queens Symphony Orchestra with Malena Dayen and Stefanos Koroneos directing.
Performance Date: Nov. 14, 2021
Teatro Grattacielo, in co-production with Opera Hispanica, will present De Falla’s “El Amor Brujo.” The work will be shown at La MaMa’s Ellen Stewart Theatre alongside Piazzolla’s “Oblivion.” Nancy Fabiola Herrera stars in the production with Gustavo Feulien also performing during the evening. Jorge Parodi will conduct the Metamorphosis Ensemble Orchestra with bandoneon player Rodolfo Zanetti and directed by Malena Dayen.

The company will also perform at the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice in a fully staged performance of Pietro Mascagni’s “L’Amico Fritz” in collaboration with Camerata Bardi International Academy. The cast will also include Diego Valdez as Fritz Kobus, Clara Lisle as Suzel, Suchan Kim as David, Madison Marie McIntosh as Beppe, and David Santiago as Federico. The performance will be conducted by Mexican Conductor Felipe Tristan and directed by Malena Dayen and Stefanos Koroneos.
