Nancy Fabiola Herrera, María José Siri & Airam Hernández Lead Ópera de Tenerife’s 2021-22 Season

Spain’s Ópera de Tenerife has announced its 2021-22 season featuring six operas.

Miguel Ortega’s “La casa de Bernarda Alba” will be produced for the first time in Tenerife with Ortega conducting. Nancy Fabiola Herrera stars in the title role with Carmen Acosta, Beatriz Lanza, Marina Rodríguez-Cusí, Belén Elvira, Melody Louledjian, Luis Cansino, Carmen Mateo, and Marga Arnau. Silvia Paoli will direct the production.

Performance Dates: Oct. 19-23, 2021

Verdi’s “Attila” will be the second opera of the season starring Marko Mimica in the title role, María José Siri as Odabella, Alfredo Daza as Ezio, and Antonio Poli as Foresto. Christopher Franklin conducts the production by Andrea de Rosa.

Performance Dates: Nov. 23-27, 2021

Mercandante’s “Francesca da Rimini” will be performed in a concert performance starring Beatriz de Sousa, Nozomi Kato, David Astorga, and Francesco Leone. Alessandro Palumbo conducts.

Performance Date: Dec. 11, 2021

Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief” will be conducted by Javier Lanis and will star Candelaria González and Fernando García-Campero.

Performance Dates: Jan. 22-30, 2022

Sandra López sing sthe title role in Catan’s “Florencia en el Amazonas” with Lina Mendes, Airam Hernández, Guadalupe Barrientos, and Alejandro López. Pedro Halffter conducts the production by Chía Patiño.

Performance Dates: March 22-26, 2022

Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” will be conducted by Rubén Díez and directed by Raúl Vázquez.

Performance Dates: April 23 & 24, 2022
