Najmiddin Mavlyanov To Make Metropolitan Opera Debut In ‘Tosca’

Najmiddin Mavlyanov will sing the role of Cavaradossi in “Tosca” at the Metropolitan Opera.

The Met announced that Mavlyanov will make his Met debut singing the final two performances of “Tosca” on the May 8 and 12. He will join Anna Netrebko and Željko Lučić.

Mavlyanov has performed the role of Cavaradossi at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and Royal Opera, Covent Garden. He recently performed the title role of Verdi’s “Don Carlo” at Bolshoi Opera, Maurizio in Cilea’s “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Mariinsky Theatre, Radamès in Verdi’s “Aida” at Hong Kong Opera, and Manrico in “Verdi’s Il Trovatore” at Royal Opera, Covent Garden. Next season he is set to perform at the Stanislavsky Opera and Israeli Opera.

Bertrand de Billy conducts the performances which have praised Netrebko for her inciteful performance in the title role.
