Nadine Sierra & Xabier Anduaga Team Up for Concert

Soprano Nadine Sierra and tenor Xabier Anduaga will appear together in a concert on Sep. 9, 2020.

The performance, entitled “A Celebration of Opera” will also feature pianist David Aronson. Concert, which will not include a live audience, will be organized by the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society.

Sierra will perform “Ah, je veux vivre” from Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette,” “O mio babbino caro,” “Mi chiamano Mimi” from Puccini’s “La bohème,” “Caro nome” from Verdi’s “Rigoletto,” and “Melodia Sentimental.”

Anduaga will sing “Ah mes amis” from Donizetti’s “La fille du régiment,” “Una furtiva lagrima” from “L’elisir d’amore,” “Por el humo se sabe dónde está el fuego,” “Granada,” and “No puede ser.”

Two opera stars will also join forces in such duets as “Una parola” from “L’elisir d’amore,” and “Sulla tomba…. Veranno a te sull’are” from “Lucia di Lammermoor.” The evening will end with the famed “Brindisi” (“Libiamo ne’ lieti calici”) from Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

The concert will be broadcast live on GBC at 9:30 p.m. CET.
