Nadine Sierra Announces ‘Made for Opera’

By Francisco Salazar

Deutsche Grammophon has announced Nadine Sierra’s second solo album.

The new recording, entitled “Made for Opera,” is dedicated to three of the most beautiful, challenging, and dramatic roles in 19th-century romantic repertoire: Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Verdi’s Violetta, and Gounod’s Juliette.

Audiences will get to hear the soprano in Lucia’s Mad Scene, Violetta’s famous Act one scene, and Juliette’s famous poison scene, among others.

Sierra is joined by Riccard Frizza who conducts the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI. Paolo Fanale, Veta Pilipenko, and Capella Cracoviensis make special appearances throughout the album.

Sierra previously released her debut album “There’s a Place for Us” which featured music by Bernstein, Villa-Lobos, and Gordon, among others.

“Made for Opera” is set to be released on March 4, 2022.
