The Ópera Nacional de Chile at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago has announced its 2020-21 season. Here is a look at the opera and concert performances scheduled.

Opera in Concert 

Nadine Koutcher and Patricia Cifuentes star in the title role of Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor“ alongside Ivan Ayon Rivas and Dario Schmunck as Edgardo. Paolo Bortolameolli conducts the production, which also includes Orhan Yildiz, Fabian Veloz, Daniel Miroslaw, and Matias Moncada.

Performance Dates: March 18-6, 2021

Bizet’s “Carmen“ returns to the theater with Natalia Kutateladze and Evelyn Ramirez in the title role; Peter Berg and Pedro Espinoza in the role of Don Jose; Oksana Sekerina and Paulina Gonzalez as Micäela; and David Miroslaw and Patricio Sabate as Escamillo. Maximiano Valdes conducts.

Performance Dates: April 15-22, 2021

Yalitza Veliz, Paulina Gonzalez, Joel Prieto, Diego Godoy, Aleksandra Jovanovic, Lisa Mostin, Ing Sung Sim, Roman Astakhov, Joan Martin-Royo, and Eleomar Cuello star in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.” Hendrick Vestmann and Pedro-Pablo Prudencio conduct.

Performance Dates: June 2-12, 2021

Maxim Aniskin and Petr Sokolov sing the title role Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” alongside Vlada Borovko and Anna Bondarenko as Tatiana. Roberto Rizzi Brignoli and Pedro-Pablo Prudencio conduct the opera, which also stars Dmitry Ivanchey, Alvaro Zambrano, Evelyn Ramirez, and Ekaterina Sergeeva.

Performance Dates: July 10-17, 2021

Karah Son, Paulina Gonzalez, Migran Agadzhanyan, Giorgi Sturua, Maria Luisa Merino, Ricardo Seguel, and Patricio Sabate star in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.” Pedro-Pablo Prudencio conducts.

Performance Dates: August 18-28, 2021

Nadine Koutcher and Andrea Aguilar star in Verdi’s “La Traviata” with Rame Lahaj and Santiago Ballerini as Alfredo. The cast also includes Sebastian Catana and Javier Arrey alternating as Germont. Jose Miguel Perez-Sierra conducts.

Alfred Kim and Samuele Simoncini share the title role of Giordano’s “Andrea Chenier“ with Ewa Vesin and Elena Mikhailenko as Maddalena and Fabian Veloz and Vitaliy Bilyy as Gerard. Roberto Rizzi Brignoli and Pedro-Pablo Prudencio conduct.

Mozart’s Requiem is set to be performed by Paulina Gonzalez, Maria Luisa Merino, In Sung Sim, and Brayan Avila.
