Myrtò Papatanasiu Leads Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’ at Lugano Arte e Cultura

The Lugano Arte e Culturala is set to open Verdi’s “la Traviata.”

The production, which is set to be presented from Sept. 2 to 8, 2022, will be conducted by Maestro Markus Poschner and directed by Carmelo Rifici.

The production will star Myrtò Papatanasiu as Violetta Valéry, Airam Hernández as Alfredo Germont, Giovanni Meoni as Giorgio Germont, Sofya Tumanyan as Flora Bervoix, Michela Petrino as Annina, Lorenzo Izzo as Gastone, Davide Fersini as barone Douphol, and Laurence Meikle as il marchese d’Obigny.

Andrea Marchiol leads the chorus with stage design by Guido Buganza, costume design by Margherita Baldoni, lighting designer Alessandro Verazzi, choreography by Alessio Maria Romano.

The production comes after the success of Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” which had success four years ago when the LAC had its debut.
