
Musiktheater im Revier Announces 2026-27 Season

Musiktheater im Revier announces its first season under Frank Hilbrich as its General Director.
The season opens with the world premiere of Jan Dvorak’s “Blue,” directed by Thomas Fiedler.
Performance Dates: Sept. 19 – Oct. 3, 2026
Berg’s “Wozzeck” is conducted by John Warner and directed by Ilaria Lanzino.
Performance Dates: Sept. 27, 2026 – Feb. 25, 2027
Rasmus Baumann conducts Puccini’s “Tosca,” with stage direction by Frank Hilbrich.
Performance Dates: Oct. 10, 2026 – March 29, 2027
Lukas Ziesché conducts Sebastian Schwab’s “Der Räuber Hotzenplotz.” Juana Inés Cano Restrepo directs.
Performance Dates: Dec. 5, 2026 – May 23, 2027
Mozart’s “La clamenza di Tito” is conducted by John Warner and directed by Krystian Lada.
Performance Dates: Feb. 5 – July 10, 2027
Loewe and Lerner’s “My Fair Lady” is conducted by Lukas Ziesché. Katja Wolff directs.
Performance Dates: March 3 – July 17, 2027
The world premiere of Hans Thomalla and Juliana Spahr’s “Dark Fall” is conducted by John Warner. Jari Kunter directs.
Performance Dates: April 9 – July 8, 2027
John Warner conducts Prokofiev and Gozzi’s “Die Liebe zu den drei Orangen.” Frank Hilbrich directs.
Performance Dates: June 5 – July 18, 2027
Askan Geisler conducts Niclas Ramdohr and Holger Potocki’s children’s opera, “Pettersson und Findus und der Hahn im Korb.” Nina Dudek directs.
Performance Dates: Oct. 10 – Dec. 17, 2027
“Monty Python’s Not the Messiah” by Eric Idle and John du Prez is conducted by Lukas Ziesché. Alexander Eberle leads the chorus.
Performance Date: Oct. 25, 2027
The season concludes with Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer” conducted by Rasmus Baumann and John Warner. Igor Pison directs.
Performance Dates: Dec. 11, 2027 – Jan. 3, 2028
