By Logan Martell

The Music Before 1800 series is readying to close its season with two last concerts.

On April 16, they will welcome back the Dutch ensemble Cappella Pratenses for a concert celebrating the 500th anniversaries of Renaissance composers Josquin Desprez and Jean Mouton. The group recently won early music organization REMA’s Heritage Project of the Year Award for their new album featuring the music of Jacob Obrecht. The program will be available online on April 23 until May 7, 2023.

On May 7, the Tiburtina Ensemble will make its North American debut in a concert of Hildegard von Bingen’s music. Barbora Kabátková will direct this Prague-based women’s group, featuring harpist Hana Blažíková. The program will premiere online on May 14 and will be available until May 28, 2023.

Both concerts will be held at Corpus Christi Church in New York City.
