Music at Paxton Festival Announces 20th Anniversary Program

The Music At Paxton Festival has announced its 20th Anniversary season. Running from July 17 to 26 in the Scottish Borders, the festival takes place at Paxton House and venues across the surrounding area.

Here is a look at the vocal performances.

Haddington’s’ Hadley Court Singers, directed by Kit Hobkirk, will be performed at the historic riverside setting of St Cuthbert’s Church in Norham. The program includes music of the late Italian Renaissance works by Palestrina including his Stabat Mater and Gesualdo.

Baritone Roderick Williams and pianist Iain Burnside will perform a program titled “From the Forest of Dean to the Appalachians.” The program includes music by Vaughan Williams, Holst, Bliss and others alongside spirituals.
