MUSE/IQUE to Present ‘Bernstein at Heart’

Los Angeles-based MUSE/IQUE is set to present “Bernstein At Heart: Learning is Living” as part of its “MUSIC = POWER” concert series.

The showcase, which is set to take place on August 3 at The Huntington Library and August 6 at The Skirball Cultural Center, will feature soprano Anna Schubert, tenor Ashley Faatoalia, and violinist James Birch.

The program will feature music from “West Side Story” as well as works by Copland, James Taylor, John Lennon, Mozart, and Bach.

Schubert has performed with such organizations as The Industry, Opera Omaha, the LA Philharmonic, and LA Opera, among others. She has also recorded soundtracks for such films as “Birds of Prey,” Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” and “Midnight Mass,” among others.

Meanwhile, Faatoalia has appeared with the Long Beach Opera, Seattle Opera, the LA Philharmonic, The Industry, and Volcano Theatre of Toronto, among others.
