Mirror Vision Ensemble to Present ‘Midnight Magic’

New York City-based Mirror Visions Ensemble is set to return to the concert hall on April 3, 2022 with “Midnight Magic.”

The showcase will feature four commissioned works (including three premieres) include Carlos Simon’s “Dreams” as well as Andrew Gerle’s arrangement of “That Old Black Magic” and Harold Meltzer’s “Midnight Vocalise.” The final commission on the program will be Russell Plat’s “A Clear Midnight.”

Additionally, audiences will hear music by such composers as Florence Price, Debussy, Ricky Ian Gordon, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Respighi, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Wolf, Sondheim, Margaret Bonds, Fred Hersch, Harold Meltzer, Ruth Crawford Seeger, and Gilbert and Sullivan, among others.

The showcase will be headlined by soprano Mireille Asselin, mezzo-soprano Abi Levis, tenor Daniel McGrew, baritone Mischa Bouvier, and pianist Max Hammond.
