Minnesota Opera to Present ‘MNiatures’

By David Salazar

Minnesota Opera has announced the return of its “MNiatures” series.

Starting on Oct. 30, 2021, audiences will be able to stream Christian Bardin and Mo Holmes’ “YR GOD MY GOD,” Leyna Marika Papach, and Stephanie Henry’s “Semblance Part I & II: Mina at Night,” and a work by Mitchell Bercier.

“Our organization continues to concentrate on identifying and breaking down the barriers that keep members of our community from participating in opera as an artform,” said Minnesota Opera President and General Director Ryan Taylor in an official press statement. “By commissioning local artists with a variety of artistic backgrounds and expertise to create new operatic works, we hopefully begin to fracture those barriers and create space for all members of our community to join us, whether that be on the stage or in the seats.”

Audiences will be able to watch the MNiatures via the company’s official website and YouTube channel.
