The company announced it will be making a casting change for the role of Leporello in the company’s fall 2019 production of “Don Giovanni.”

Stump was accused of sexual assault by colleague Julie O’Dell. In a statement, she said, “Thank you for believing and protecting women. Our industry needs more institutions to take steps like this.”

The Michigan Opera Theatre’s “Don Giovanni” is set to star Daniel Okulitch in the title role, Ellie Dehn, Nicole Cabell, David Leigh, Geoffrey Agpalo, Avery Boettcher, and Allen Michael Jones. Christopher Allen conducts the production which is set to be directed by John Pascoe.

The production opens on Oct. 19 through 27, 2019.
