
Michelle Johnson Leads Opera Southwest’s ‘Aida’

Opera Southwest is set to present Verdi’s “Aida” in a new production followinng a 10-year absence.
Michelle Johnson will sing the title role alongside Olivia Vote as Amneris, Matt Hanscom as Amonasro, and tenor Dane Suarez as Radames.
Stefano Sarzani will conduct the production which will be directed by Octavio Cardenas.
Forty-five minutes before each performance, audiences are invited to attend Opera Southwest’s “Opera Insights” pre-performance talks, held in the Bank of America Auditorium or Wells Fargo Auditorium, accessible from the shared Journal Theatre lobby.
Johnson has performed at the Madison Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Florentine Opera, and Opera Delaware while Suarez has performed at the Anchorage Opera, American Lyric Theater, Gulfshore Opera, and OperaDelaware. Vote has performed with the Staatstheater Mainz, Lithuanian National Opera, Atlanta Opera, and Cedar Rapids Opera.
