The Taipei Symphony Orchestra will present Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” on Sept. 16 and 19 at the Taipei Performing Arts Center’s Grand Theatre.

The showcase will be led by Chief Conductor Alexander Liebreich and stars tenor Michael Weinius and soprano Lianna Haroutounian as the star-crossed lovers.

The cast also includes Michael Kupfer Radecky as Kurwenal, Stefanie Iranyi as Brangäne, Wen I Tseng as König Marke, and Moritz Kallenberg as Melot, with the Taipei Male Choir and Taipei Symphony Orchestra.

The production is directed by Christian Räth and was originally created for the Dallas Opera, where it premiered in 2012. It has been restaged in Taipei with Associate Director Birgit Kajtna Wönig, projection designer Elaine McCarthy, and lighting designer Thomas Hase.
