Michael Volle & Helmut Deutsch to Present Music by Brahms at Semperoper Dresden

The Semperoper Dresden is set to present a recital featuring baritone Michael Volle and pianist Helmut Deutsch.

On. Feb. 6, 2022, the duo will present the song cycle “Die Schöne Magelone.” The work is comprised of 15 romances by Johannes Brahms, based on text by Ludwig Tieck. The showcase will feature actor Hartmut Volle.

Michael Volle was set to appear in a now-canceled production of “Tannhäuser” at the Semperoper Dresden and is set to appear in concert in late February with the Elbphilharmonie. He will also join a run of performances of Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen” with Oper Leipzig starting on March 2, 2022.

At the Deutsche Oper Berlin, he will be taking on a production of Verdi’s “I Vespri Siciliani” before heading to the Festtage Berlin and Staatsoper Unter den Linden for the title role in “Don Giovanni.” He will also present performances of Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” in Rotterdam, Dortmund, Baden-Baden, and Paris alongside conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
