Michael Spyres, Ermonela Jaho & Rosa Feola Lead Opera Rara’s 2024-25 Season

Concerts
The company will open its season with the 1857 version of Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” in Manchester. Sir Mark Elder conducts The Hallé and Chorus of Opera North. The cast includes Nicola Alaimo (Simon Boccanegra), Eri Nakamura (Amelia), Iván-Ayón Rivas (Gabriele Adorno), William Thomas (Jacopo Fiesco), Sergio Vitale (Paolo Albiani), David Shipley (Pietro), and Beth Moxon (Amelia’s Maid).
Performance Date: April 18, 2024
Ermonela Jaho will be joined by Carlo Rizzi and Marco Rizzi in a recital featuring music by Bellini, Donizetti, Gounod, Verdi, and Viardot.
Performance Date: May 23, 2024
Katia Ledoux and Anna Tilbrook perform in a recital featuring music by Bizet, Berlioz, Chaminade, Donizetti, Grandval, Rossini, and Viardot.
Performance Date: June 10, 2024
Rosa Feola and Carlo Rizzi perform as part of the “Donizetti Song Project” at Wigmore Hall.

Michael Spyres and Marie-Nicole Lemieux join forces with Carlo Rizzi for Donizetti Song Project at Cadogan Hall
Performance Date: March 10, 2025
There will also be Salon Series recitals with Lluís Calvet i Pey, Jessica Robinson, and Ellie Neate.
Record Releases
Donizetti Song Project’s first two album releases will feature a Tenor songs album with Lawrence Brownlee, and baritone songs album with Nicola Alaimo.

Michael Spyres and Carlo Rizzi release an album of Donizetti French songs while Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Giulio Zappa also release a Donizetti song album.
