Michael Nündel has been announced as the new Music Director of Leipzig’s Musikalische Komödie⁩ during the 2024-25 season.

The theater, which specializes in theater and musicals noted, “It is with great pleasure that we announce that Michael Nündel will take over the position of Music Director and Chief Conductor in Musikalische Komödie from the 2024-25. Michael Nündel can already be seen as the conductor of the successful musical production ‘The Producer.'”

Nündel completed his musical training in conducting and piano at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. He went on to study at the Schola cantorum basiliensis in Basel until 2003.

From 2007 to 2014, he worked for the Kiel Theatre, where he became 2nd Kapellmeister in 2012. From 2015 to 2021, Nündel was engaged as 1st Kapellmeister at the Staatstheater Darmstadt.
