Michael Fabiano’s ‘Crescendo! Nominated for Critics Choice Documentary Awards

Michael Fabiano’s upcoming short documentary “Crescendo!” has been nominated for the Critics Choice Documentary Awards.

The film is nominated in the Best Short Documentary category alongside “Blackfeet Boxing: Not Invisible,” “The Claudia Kishi Club,” “Elevator Pitch,” “Hunger Ward,” “Into the Fire,” “My Father the Mover,” “The Rifleman,” “The Speed Cubers,” and “St. Louis Superman.”

The awards will be presented on Nov. 16, 2020.

“Crescendo!” is set to make its world premiere on Nov. 11 at the DocNYC Film Festival and tells the story of Michael Fabiano facing concerns about living openly as a gay man within the traditionally conservative culture of his field. The short documentary was directed by Alex Mallis and produced by Mallis, Matthew O’Neill, and Perri Peltz.
