On May 23, the Bilbao Opera is set to close its 74th season with Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier.”

The work will be performed through June 1 for four performances with Michael Fabiano singing the title role, alongside Saioa Hernández as Maddalena di Coigny. Juan Jesús Rodríguez rounds out the cast of leads in the role of Carlo Gérard.

The cast will also include Nancy Fabiola Herrera as the Contessa di Coigny and Madelon, Veta Pilipenko as Bersi, Gabriel Alonso as Roucher, Jorge Rodríguez-Norton as the Incredibile and L’Abate, and Fernando Latorre, José Manuel Díaz, and Gexan Etxabe.

Guillermo García Calvo conducts the production.

The May 23 performance will be shown on ETB2 as a way to bringing opera to more audiences.
