Miami Symphony Orchestra Extends Contract of Music Director Eduardo Maturet

The Miami Symphony Orchestra has announced that it will be extending the contract of music director Eduardo Maturet through 2027.

Maturet started his tenure with the company back in 2006 with the 2020-21 season set to be his 15th at the helm.

“I strongly believe we are entering into a new world order, and are privilege to be more together than ever before,” Maturet stated on the company’s official website. “I’m extremely proud of our artistic achievements and the lives we have enriched together, and look forward to five more years of exciting music experiences with the Miami Symphony.”

The Venezuelan conductor has recorded over 40 CDs in a wide range of repertory and has performed alongside such organizations as  Berliner Symphoniker, European Community Chamber Orchestra, Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, RAI Symphony Orchestra, Danish Radio Symphony, Royal Flemish Philarmonique, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Gelders Orkest, Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic, Budapest Radio Symphony, Brabant Orkest, and Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra in Amsterdam.
