Miami Beach Classical Music Festival Announces 2022 Edition

The Miami Beach Classical Music Festival has announced its 2022 season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be on the operatic performances.

First up, is the MMF Wagner Institute will present “Opera Aria Night.” Artists will perform alongside pianist John Parr. They will be directed by Luana DeVol and Dolora Zajick.

Performance Date: July 1, 2022

Next up is the “Independence Day Celebration” which will be led by Artistic Director Michael Rossi. The concert will feature Broadway classics and other major classical favorites.

Performance Date: July 4, 2022

There will be a performance of “The Magic Flute” for children and their families.

Performance Date: July 10, 2022

There will be a benefit concert for Ukraine entitled “Music for Hope.” The piece will feature music by Ukrainian, Tartar, and Georgian composers.

Performance Date: July 13, 2022

The company will then present the first fully-staged production of “Das Rheingold” in South Florida. The production will feature an “immersive environment that places the audience inside the scenery using state-of-the-art 360° projections.” Michael Rossie conducts.

Performance Date: July 16, 2022

Next up is a production of “Carmen.”

Performance Date: July 21 & 23, 2022

The company will also showcase Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Performance Date: July 22 & 24, 2022

The season comes to a close with “L’Orfeo” by Monteverdi.

Performance Date: July 23 & 24, 2022
