Mezzo-Soprano Guadalupe Peraza Headlines American Classical Orchestra’s ‘Chaconne’

American Classical Orchestra has announced that it will open its 2020-21 season on Nov. 17 with a program entitled “Chaconne.”

The new showcase will be a two-part virtual program with musical performances by mezzo-soprano Guadalupe Peraza, violinists Karen Dekker and Chloe Fedor, gambist Arnie Tanimoto, theorbo player Charles Weaver, and ACO’s Artistic Director and Founder Thomas Crawford on harpsichord.

The concert will feature music by Arañés, Haym, Strozzi, Marais, Corelli, Couperin, Monteverdi, Purcell, and Bach’s famed Chaconne for solo violin.

The first part of the program will be made available on Nov. 17 starting at 7:30 p.m. EST with the second part of the concert set to start streaming on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. EST. The entire concert was filmed at the Harlem Parish in New York City.
