The Metropolitan Opera’s production of Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino” is set to be transmitted in Live in HD on March 9, 2024.

The production will star Lise Davidsen, Brian Jagde, Igor Golovatenko, Judit Kutasi, Patrick Carfizzi, and Soloman Howard. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts the performance.

The production is the third Met staging from award-winning director Mariusz Treliński and Gary Halvorson will direct the Live in HD presentation for cinemas. Soprano Nadine Sierra will host, providing exclusive behind-the-scenes access and conducting interviews with the cast and creative team during intermissions.

Of the production, OperaWire said, “Brian Jagde Gives an Outstanding Performance in Mariusz Trelinski War-Torn Production” and “Trelinski’s production deserves credit for aiming to use Verdi’s propulsive and urgent work to explore the dangers of a very immediate concern in our world.”
