The Metropolitan Opera has revealed future plans for stars Quinn Kelsey and Rosa Feola.

In a recent interview with the New York Times speaking about the new “Rigoletto,” General Manager noted that Kelsey is “destined for great things” and will be singing in upcoming productions of “Un Ballo in Maschera,” “Aida” and “Macbeth.”

Meanwhile, Gelb revealed that Lisette Oropesa had originally been cast as Gilda for the new production but was asked to be released from her contract in order to take on a new role. Oropesa then suggested Feola to replace her and Gelb noted that Feola was a “major talent.”

He also noted that the soprano will broaden her repertoire in future seasons singing in productions of “Le Nozze di Figaro,” “La Traviata” and a new production of Giordano’s “Fedora.”

“Rigoletto” continues at the Metropolitan Opera through Jan. 29 and will return in the spring starring Kelsey and a new cast.
