
Metropolitan Opera to Present ‘Cendrillon’ in Theaters For Valentine’s Day

The Metropolitan Opera is set to present an abridged, English-language version of Massenet’s “Cinderella” in HD.
The performance from Jan. 1, 2022 will be shown in select U.S. theaters on Feb. 14 and 18, with additional dates in the Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Dominican Republic, Finland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, and Sweden.
The opera is presented in a 90-minute abridged version with an English translation. Conductor Emmanuel Villaume conducts a cast that includes mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard in the title role, mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo as Prince Charming, soprano Jessica Pratt as the Fairy Godmother, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe as Madame de la Haltière and bass-baritone Laurent Naouri as Pandolfe.
