Metropolitan Opera Announces New Cast Change for ‘Moby Dick’

The Metropolitan Opera has announced a new cast change for “Moby Dick” on March 11, 2025.

The company said that Alex Boyer will make his Met debut as Captain Ahab replacing Brandon Jovanovich.

Boyer is a tenor who has performed at the West Edge Opera, San Francisco Opera, San Diego Opera, Opera Southwest, and Hawaii Opera Theater. He has performed the role of Captain Ahab in Jake Heggie’s “Moby Dick” at the Chicago Opera Theater. 

Boyer is set to join a cast that includes Janai Brugger, Stephen Costello, William Burden, Peter Mattei, Malcolm MacKenzie, and Ryan Speedo Green. Karen Kamensek conducts the production by Leonard Foglia.
