The Metropolitan Opera has announced a cast change for its revival of “Orfeo ed Euridice.”

The company said that “For all performances of Gluck’s ‘Orfeo ed Euridice,’ the conductor will be J. David Jackson.” He will replace  Christian Curnyn, who was originally announced.

Jackson made his Met debut in 2008 leading “Hansel and Gretel.” He has since conducted “Porgy and Bess” at the Met.

He will lead a cast that includes Ying Fang, Anthony Roth Costanzo and Elena Villalon.

”Orfeo ed Euridice” opens on May 16 and will run until June 8, 2024.
