By Chris Ruel

The Metropolitan Opera has announced a cast change for the Mar. 2, 2023, performance of Wagner’s “Lohengrin.”

Baritone Thomas Hall will make his Met Opera debut singing the role of Telramund, stepping in for Evgeny Nikitin.

Hall made his European debut in 2011, singing Telramund at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, and it has remained in his repertoire.

This spring, the heldenbaritone sings the role of The Dutchman in Staatstheater Karlsruhe’s production of Wagner’s “Flying Dutchman.”
