Metropolitan Opera Announces Cast Change For ‘La Cenerentola’

The Metropolitan Opera has announced a cast change for Rossini’s “La Cenerentola,” revealing that Vito Priante will replace Davide Luciano in the role of Dandini.

Priante will make his company debut in the production which is set to open on March 12. He is a well-known baritone who specializes in the Bel Canto repertoire and has performed at the Royal Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro la Fenice and Teatro Comunale di Bologna, among others. He recently completed a production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” in Rome and is scheduled to sing in “Die Zauberflöte” at the Royal Opera.

Priante will join a cast that includes Javier Camarena, Tara Erraught, Maurizio Muraro, and Christian Van Horn.

Luciano returns to the Metropolitan for New Year’s Eve, joining Anna Netrebko and Matthew Polenzani in the first act of “La Bohème.”
