Merola Opera Program Unveils Historic 2024 Season

The Merola Opera Summer Festival has announced its 2024 season. The entirety of the season will be directed by women.

First up is “The Song as Drama.” The vocal recital will be curated by Carrie-Ann Matheson and Nicholas Phan.

Performance Date: June 27, 2024

Then comes the Schwabacher Summer Concert featuring extended scenes from works by Donizetti, Gounod, Leoncavallo, Massenet, Puccini, and Strauss. Louis Lohraseb conducts. Omer Ben Seadia and Anna Theodosakis direct.

Performance Date: July 11 & 13, 2024

Patricia Racette stages “Don Giovanni.” Stefano Sarzani conducts.

Performance Date: August 1 & 3, 2024

The Merola Grand Finale will be conducted by Steven White and directed by Anna Theodosakis. Per an official press release, the showcase will feature 29 young artists from around the world.

David holds a Masters in Media Management from Fordham University. During his time at Fordham, he studied abroad at the Jagiellonian University in Poland. He also holds a dual bachelor’s from Hofstra University in Film Production and Journalism.
